ULLENHALL PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 4th May 2010, at 7.45pm, in Ullenhall Village Hall.

In the absence of the Chair, Vice-Chair J.Bucknall took the meeting.

A letter has been received from Marie Andrews tendering her resignation as a Parish Councillor. Cllrs. expressed a huge thank you for all her work on the Emergency Plan and her help and advice over the past years.

The Chair, J. Bucknall, stood down and the clerk took over the meeting.

Applications

10/00546/FUL Mr. S. Warden, 8 St. Mark’s Close, Ullenhall - Proposed two storey extension to side/rear. No representations made, application supported.

10/00346/VARY Mr. A. and Mrs. K. Haimes, Hall End Farm, Ullenhall - Removal of Condition 1 of application 09/00984/FUL restricting use for recreational or agricultural equestrian purposes and for no commercial purposes. No representations made.

10/00737/FUL Mr. K. Brewer, Arden Manor, Gentlemans Lane, Ullenhall - Replacement dwelling, variation of roof design to that approved under ref: 09/01648/FUL. No representations made.

a. Parish Assembly Meeting, Thursday May 20th 2010 at 7.30pm.

Confirmed Speaker, David Howe, on ‘Laughter, the Best Medicine’.

PC David Martin able to attend, ask him to talk for 5-10 minutes.

Refreshments from Sue Dalby, same as last year.

Letters to local organisations.

Fly leaflets to be distributed nearer the date, these have been revised to A4 size

Future use of ‘Telephone Kiosk’, comments to the clerk. Prize of a ‘Meal for Two’ at

The Winged Spur to the value of £30 for the person who chooses the future use.

Emergency Plan, a note that it is on the Ullenhall Web Site and that the clerk and Emergency Committee members hold a copy if required.

OUTSTANDING ISSUES

Several signs are missing or broken. The Crowleys Close sign has been damaged, and although some repair has been made the sign is still broken. The Ullenhall pointer sign is missing at the junction of Forde Hall Lane and Gentlemans Lane. The bend warning sign by Green Lanes has been knocked down. The clerk has reported these.

‘Adopt a Kiosk’, formal consultation in progress for the removal, by BT, of the telephone, and

adoption by the Parish Council of the telephone box. Ideas from residents will be sought as to

the possible use of telephone box after adoption. N.B. when adopted, this will need to be added

to the Parish Council’s insurance.

Letter from BT regarding purchase of telephone box, Ullenhall will apply.

It was agreed to monitor the restoration of verges by current developments.

The white posts on the verge by Elm Tree Farm have caused concern to motorists.. The clerk will inform W.C.C. highways.

The footpath across the field at the end of Watery Lane is poor - SD243. It has been reported to the Countryside Rights of Way Officer who will visit the site.

There is now a vacancy for a Parish Councillor for Ullenhall. The clerk to look at the necessary procedure to fill this vacancy.
